about

The Millennium.
A portal is opened.
The chain of time is broken.
A young man is transported into the past, altering the course of history and the outcome of the future. He has to find a way home, but first he must travel to the outer edges of time to repair the world's chronology.

On the way, he encounters strange friends and foes, utilizes incredible devices and vehicles, and penetrates and neutralizes the fortresses of the past, present and future.

A paradox has been created.
If he does not restore the order of time, nothing will ever be the same.
He is the one who will become a hero.

He is Crono.

I do not own the original source material. This is intended as a tribute the the incredible score and soundtrack work of everyone who worked on the Chrono Trigger original soundtrack.
The majority of tracks were created originally by Yasunori Mitsuda, with a few tracks composed by regular Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.

The game was originally created by Final Fantasy developer Hironobu Sakaguchi, and the game's director was Masato Kato.

Mitsuda would often sleep in his studio several nights out of week, with some of the tracks on this album inspired by his dreams. Mitsuda fell ill during production of the soundtrack and Nobuo Uematsu joined the project to compose 10 tracks and finish the score with him. Mitsuda returned to watch the ending with the staff before the game's release. He reportedly cried upon seeing the final scenes of the game.

At the time of release, the sheer amount of music and sound effects contained within it were unprecedented. The original soundtrack spanned 3 discs in its 1995 commercial pressing.

This is not a complete reimagining of the soundtrack, but rather selected works that I feel best encapsulate the Chrono Trigger experience.

Enjoy.
